We designed this kitchen and living space to feel warm, natural, and connected to the outdoors. The chestnut timber structure, shelving, and deep window reveals set the tone, bringing rich texture and a calm architectural atmosphere to the room. The large grid rooflight floods the space with daylight, highlighting the beauty of the timber and creating a bright, uplifting place to gather.
In the kitchen, we paired melamine birch ply doors with stainless-steel work surfaces for a clean, functional, and contemporary look.
The stainless steel adds a practical, hard-wearing edge that contrasts beautifully with the warmth of the chestnut. A geometric tile backsplash introduces colour and personality, while exposed steel beams and simple pendant lighting add a modern, industrial touch.
Overall, this space blends natural materials, thoughtful detailing, and soft daylight to create a warm, modern environment that feels both crafted and lived-in.
